Defensive Line CCW trains and educates civilians in the safe use of a handgun. Our senior instructor has 30+ years shooting experience and has been certified by the NRA as a Range Safety Officer and Certified Instructor to teach and issue competency certificates in the following NRA approved classes. NRA Certified disciplines are: Basic Pistol, Personal Protection in the Home, Home Firearm Safety, and the Eddy Eagle Program (elementary school age education). The main focus of Defensive Line CCW is to train and educate students in the safe handling and use of their handgun and for the purpose of obtaining a Concealed Handgun License from the State of Ohio and advancement of pistol skills. We meet all criteria as noted in Ohio revised codes, that enables you to apply for your State Issued License. We offer shooting lessons for the beginner or those that just want a refresher, using the NRA guidelines for safety and accuracy. We also offer advanced classes in personal protection with a handgun, utilizing techniques from various positional shooting, move and shoot, and defensive postures. (These advanced classes are primarily for students that have previously completed their training and have been issued a CCW License). Defensive Line CCW believes in interactive style instruction and student participation. We utilize many instructional aides such as Power Point Presentations, Videos, NRA Display Boards, hands-on displays, hand-outs and an enjoyable atmosphere. We do not employ a “Drill Sergeant, hard core type” class. You are attending to learn and retain that knowledge for use, in case of adverse situations in your future, so we try to make it effective and enjoyable. Safety is always paramount in our instruction and this will be the only “zero tolerance” policy enforced. We expect everyone to learn, enjoy the experience, and at all costs, be safe.
Defensive Line CCW is also a strong supporter for our rights as interpreted and affirmed by the United States Supreme Court (Washington D.C. v. Heller – 2008, and McDonald v. Chicago – 2010) concerning the 2nd Amendment which states that:
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”
is an individual right.
